Our Approach
Gogo EMR is designed in alignment with Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, the Digital Health Act 2023, and the data standards of the Kenya Health Information System (KHIS). We are committed to building toward full compliance as our infrastructure matures, and we are transparent about what is in place today.
What We Collect
Practitioner details (name, registration number, contact information) for verification purposes. Patient details (name, phone, age, gender) and clinical records (vitals, notes, prescriptions, lab and radiology requests) entered by verified practitioners and their staff for the purpose of care delivery.
How We Use It
Patient data is used solely to support the clinical encounter, generating prescriptions, lab and radiology requests, and summaries. We do not sell patient data. Where aggregated, de-identified data may be used for research or reporting in the future, this will only happen with clear consent and without any patient-identifying information.
Where Your Data Lives
At this stage of our build, patient records are stored locally on the device used to access Gogo EMR. They are not yet synced to a central server. As we move to full database infrastructure, data residency and security will be handled in line with Data Protection Act requirements.
Your Rights
Under the Data Protection Act 2019, patients have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of their data. Practitioners can contact us at info@gogoemr.com to action any such request.

Eligibility
Gogo EMR is available to practitioners who hold a valid registration with KMPDC, the Clinical Officers Council, or an equivalent recognised regulatory body in Kenya. Reception and nursing staff may be added by a verified practitioner, who remains accountable for their use of the platform.
Use of the Platform
Gogo EMR is provided to support clinical documentation and the generation of prescriptions, lab and radiology requests, and patient summaries. It is a documentation and workflow tool, it does not replace clinical judgement, and the practitioner remains solely responsible for all clinical decisions made.
Data Responsibility
Practitioners are responsible for obtaining appropriate patient consent for data capture, in line with the Data Protection Act 2019. Gogo EMR is designed to support this, but the practitioner-patient relationship and its associated obligations remain with the practitioner.
Availability
Gogo EMR is provided free of charge at this stage. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Practitioners should maintain their own backup clinical records where critical.
Changes
These terms may be updated as Gogo EMR develops. Material changes will be communicated to registered practitioners.
